About IAAP

The Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP), established in 1962 is a nationally registered body with over 2100 life members. It is the only forum in India, which offers a common platform for practicing psychologists of all specializations to meet and discuss the developments in their respective fields. The Academy regularly publishes its Journal, the Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (JIAAP) and IAAP – News Bulletin.


The objective of the Academy is to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge of psychology and to promote the efficiency and usefulness of its members by setting up a high standard of professional education and knowledge. It also arranges and provides conference, regional, national (or international) exhibitions, meetings, lectures, classes and discussions on subjects of general and special interests in psychology, and also for the exhibition of any new, improved, or other apparatus for psychological research. The organization is also known to prepare, edit, print, publish, issue and circulate gratuitously or otherwise and to sell, lend, issue and distribute gratuitously or otherwise any papers, treatises, books, pamphlets, leaflets or communications made to the academy or documents relating to psychology and any reports of the proceedings and accounts of the academy, and for this purpose to cause translations to be made of any such papers, treatises or communications as shall be in a foreign language and to illustrate any of the publications as the academy may think expedient in connection with the objects of the academy or any of them. Since its inception in 1962, it has been serving the Indian society through various professional activities.

About IIP

Indian Institute of Psychology is India's first private organization committed exclusively to the discipline of Psychology. It was founded in the year 2014 by Dr. Kranti K. Srivastava in Noida, Uttar Pradesh with an idea and commitment to promote and provide psychological knowledge in India. 


The organization promotes its comprehensive approach to Research, Education, Publication, and Application in spreading awareness among the community about Psychology and its potential to touch and transform lives. It also works on projects and publishes independently and in collaboration with other bodies that are aiming for national development. 


The institute offers various training programs in the form of degree and diploma courses and aspires to reach out to the masses across the country through its innovative community-oriented services in various areas. The IIP team lives and breathes Psychology and strives to attain excellence through hardcore professionalism, ethical practice, innovative research, active involvement in the dissemination of knowledge through publication, and participation in events and conferences in their area of expertise. The experience at IIP is a unique and enriching experience full of learning opportunities and interaction with experts in various sub-disciplines. 


The objective of the organization is to provide a platform for academicians, practitioners, and students to exchange thoughts that contribute to the development of the field of Psychology, to promote research and development in the field of Psychology and to provide psychological support and connect with various stakeholders to spread awareness in the community. 


The organization have been involved in organizing various events like training programs and workshops in order to promote and support the dissemination of Psychological ideas and thoughts. IIP organizes continuous workshops on Past Life Regression Therapy and Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rorschach Inkblot Test, Learning Disability ADHD and Autism, etc. Similarly, summer training programs were also provided by various eminent experts such as Dr. Anand P. Singh, Dr. B.L Dubey, Prof. C.K Derolia, Prof. SPK Jena, Prof. D.D Roy, Prof. Dwarka Pershad and Dr. Shweta Tandon. IIP publishes various research Journals like Indian Journal of Developmental Disability, Psychology in India, Psyber News, Journal of Positive Psychology, and Indian Journal of Behavioral Research and Therapy.

About University of Delhi (Department of Psychology)

The University of Delhi is an internationally acclaimed university for excellence in teaching, research, and outreach through world-class quality education with the motto of ‘Nishtha Dhriti Satyam’ (dedication, steadfastness, and truth).The university was established in 1922 by an Act of the central legislature with the primary mission of fostering the all-round development of students through a multi-faceted education and sustained engagement with local, national, and global communities with our cultural ideal of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Recently on the 1st of May, 2022, DU completed its 100 years of excellence in teaching and celebrating its Centenary (1922-2022) till 30th June 2023.


The contemporary development of the university in many folds under the dynamic leadership of the present Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof Yogesh Singh, has shown new and extra expectations for the beneficiaries and all the stakeholders inside and outside the university. Among many, a few important contemporary developments have taken place, such as the Institution of Eminence (IoE), recognized by the Ministry of Education; Digital Initiatives in the name of the OneDU Programme for promoting online education; and project Samarth, which is an open-source, open-standard enabled robust, secure, scalable, and evolutionary process automation engine for universities and higher education institutions, and Samarth e-Gov is designed and developed by the University of Delhi for HEIs across India to help assimilate paper to paperless existence.

 

The Department of Psychology as an independent department was established in 1964 at North Campus (Main Campus) and other at the South Campus in the year 1981. At North Campus, the courses offered are M.A. Psychology and Ph.D. while at South Campus the course offered is M.A. Applied Psychology. The departmental teaching, field training, and research at Master's and Ph.D. levels are centered around contemporary issues like mental health and stress, technology and human interface, aging, drug abuse, societal development, disability, neuropsychological assessment, and rehabilitation, etc. The Department has an enriched repository of psychological assessment tools, a biofeedback laboratory for neuropsychological assessment, cognitive assessment, ‘Manastha’ the counseling center and a developmental center. 


As a part of centenary celebrations, the Department of Psychology, University of Delhi in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Psychology (IIP) is organizing the 58th National and 27th International Conference of the Indian Academy of Positive Psychology titled ‘Psychology and Technology : Shaping the World’. The conference aims to provide a platform where researchers, academicians, scholars, and practitioners can interact and discuss the challenges, issues, and opportunities that emerge as a consequence of the interface of psychology with technology.
